- From our latest Pre-Reg, an insight of their perspective of our work environment and their experience here.

"This placement is ideal for students who prefer to learn from practical experience rather than from reference books as there are so many opportunities to sit down with patients and discuss their medicines.

Because the pharmacy is small, I have worked in all areas of the business to develop my understanding of pharmacy management as well as clinical aspects.

The staff at Beckenham Pharmacy are all very experienced, knowledgeable and supportive at all times. They have been training pre-registration students for years and this is reflected in the well-structured nature of the placement. Beckenham has a friendly community feel and the customers are often willing to lend students their time.

My progress has been judged on my performance instead of endless written reflective accounts which makes this placement rather special. Regular meetings and feedback have given me confidence that my development is on track.

My learning has been supported by an excellent external training programme that has included first aid training and a mock GPhC assessment.

I would recommend this placement to anybody preparing to undertake their Pre-Reg year, especially if they are interested in building relationships with patients and learning more about the business side of community pharmacy."
